Landscape Design
A great landscape starts with great design.
Our landscape designers will walk you through the collaborative process of conceptualizing and creating the property of your dreams. By utilizing our broad range of professionals, we are able to combine the process of traditionally separate disciplines of landscape design and installation, resulting in projects that are creative, beautiful, functional and yet readily built. This collaborative approach also allows for responsiveness to changes during the installation that help keep the project true to the client's needs. Your property is a reflection of you and your family. Our designers ensure that your landscape reflects your taste and lifestyle.
Our landscape design team is headed by Celia Calhoun, LEED AP. Celia studied Landscape Design at Temple University, earning their certificate in residential design. She is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) and has recieved the Leadership in Energy and Ecological Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) designation. Prior to joining B&B Landscaping & Design, Celia owned and operated Acorn Designs, a landscape design firm in Villanova, PA for ten years and then when her family relocated she ran the firm in CT for two years.
Our Senior Designer Darlene Dumaine, APLD has a degree in Landscape Design and Horticulture from the University of Rhode Island, and worked for the prestigious Landscape Architecture Firm of Engle/GGP in NYC and for Johnson & Richter in Avon. She began to work independently in 1992 as Darlene Dumaine Landscape & Garden Design. Her work can be seen throughout Glastonbury & surrounding towns, and is well known for its unique style, four-seasons of interest and expanding beauty year after year. Darlene has been featured in the Hartford Courant, the Glastonbury Citizen, Glastonbury Life, and People, Places & Plants magazine. Darlene currently is the only certified member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, (APLD®), east of the river in Connecticut. “APLD® certification program provides professional recognition to landscape designers, based on established standards of excellence.”
These credentials are, in essence, an insurance policy. By hiring trained landscape designers with numerous years of experience, you ensure that your property will have a distinctive flare and will increase in beauty with maturation. You will not end up, years later, tearing out your investment to be redone because of an initially bad design.
Having personnel like Celia and Darlene on staff unifies our team and helps you build the best foundation for your property. Your landscape designer will be your companion and trusted resource during the design and creation of your outdoor spaces. |
