Mark Babineau, Owner
Mark Babineau founded B&B Landscaping in 1987. He has over 22 years experience in the landscaping field. He has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Keene State College and a Masters in Higher Education from Central Connecticut State University.

His certifications include: CNLA, CT NOFA, CT ARBORIST, CT GROUNDSKEEPER

Matt Babineau, Owner
Matt Babineau has over 20 years experience in the landscaping field. He studied Marketing at the University of Maine - Orono. He was a Glastonbury Hills Greenskeeper for 5 years. Matt is an authorized Unilock paver contractor. He is also a certified CAST lighting contractor. His technical expertise in the installation of water features, as well as landscape lighting, has been key to our success in bringing our customers' landscapes to an exciting new level.

Michael Ferris, Business Manager
Michael joined B&B Landscaping & Design in 2006 and has overall responsibility for the internal operations of the company.  He retired from ‘Corporate America’ after nearly 30 rewarding years where he held a variety of financial as well as senior operational roles. Mike is also quick to note that he was one of the first customers of B&B’s back in 1987 … and he still is.

Darlene Dumaine, Senior Designer APLD
Our senior designer Darlene Dumaine, APLD has a degree in Landscape Design and Horticulture from the University of Rhode Island, and worked for the prestigious Landscape Architecture Firm of Engle/GGP in NYC and for Johnson & Richter in Avon. She began to work independently in 1992 as Darlene Dumaine Landscape & Garden Design. Her work can be seen throughout Glastonbury & surrounding towns, and is well known for its unique style, four-seasons of interest and expanding beauty year after year. Darlene has been featured in the Hartford Courant, the Glastonbury Citizen, Glastonbury Life, and People, Places & Plants magazine. Darlene currently is the only certified member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, (APLD®), east of the river.

Celia Calhoun, Design Manager, LEED AP
Senior Designer and Department Manager, Cecilia has twelve years as a landscape design professional since completing her studies at Temple University. Prior to joining B&B Landscaping & Design, Cecilia owned and operated Acorn Designs for eight years in Villanova, PA and then in CT for two when her family relocated. Cecilia is a member of APLD and just recently completed her LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional) a green building designation through the US Green Building Council (USGBC). Sustainable Site Development and Environmental Design are tremendously important to Cecilia and part of the reason she is happy to be with a firm that values it as well. Cecilia comes to landscape design with a BFA in illustration and 20 years as a Designer, Creative Director for Advertising and marketing firms prior to switching careers. She still paints and views the landscape as the ultimate canvas.

Evelyn Betz, Designer
After working for more then a decade in the landscape industry, Evelyn earned a certificate in Landscape Design from the New York Botanical Garden.  Prior to joining B&B Landscaping & Design, she owned a landscape design/build business.  Evelyn strives to create outdoor living spaces that are both functional and beautiful. 

Maria Uzzi, Designer
Maria earned a Landscape Design Certificate from the New York Botanical Gardens and is a Certified Master Gardener.   Prior to joining B&B Landscaping & Design, she worked independently in residential design and consulting in the FarmingtonValley.  Maria has experience in both retail plant sales and container design.  She has a flair for expanding living spaces to the outdoors and has a particular interest in using a variety of paving materials.

Debra De Vries Dalton, Designer
Debra joined B&B Landscaping & Design, enthusiastic to pursue her design career.  She has experience in site analysis and planning, planting design, as well as ecological and mixed use design.  Debra holds a BS degree in Landscape Architecture and Biology from The University of Connecticut and is certified with the University of Connecticut Master Gardeners Program. 

Steve Wallach, Design Assistant
Steve Wallach has been working in the Horticulture industry for 16 years. He has been involved in all aspects of landscaping - including design, installation and maintenance. Steve is a Certified Landscape Technician and CT Certified Nurseryman.

Mike Slayton, Hardscaping Project Manager
Mike Slayton began his landscape career with B&B back in 1988 when we were just a small lawn maintenance company. In 1993 he began his own company, Expectations Landscape. Mike owned and operated Expectations for approximately 14 years, until he joined forces recently with B&B once again. With about 20 years of experience in the field, as well as a degree in business management from Keene State College, he brings a dynamic level of enthusiasm and expertise to our hardscaping division.

Rob Harrison, Hardscaping Construction Manager
Rob Harrison has over 14 years experience in the hardscaping industry. He is an authorized Unilock paver contractor and our hardscaping project manager. Rob has been working with natural stone for over 10 years, and has extensive knowledge in masonry techniques for stonewalls, patios, fire pits, paver walkways and more.

Scott Taschner, Landscaping Project Manager
Scott has been working in the landscape industry for 20 years. Prior to joining B&B Landscaping & Design, he owned a successful, local landscape business for 12 years. Scott has been involved in design and installation of landscape projects from simple bed installations to complex total yard transformations.  Scott holds a degree in Marketing Management from Bentley College. In addition, he is an active member in Connecticut Nursery & Landscape Association (CNLA).  Scott’s hands-on approach with projects, from start to finish, ensures our customers are completely satisfied.

Katie Shipman, Landscaping Project Manager
Katie Shipman has 22 years experience in the landscaping field. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Chinese from Middlebury College, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Design from University of Connecticut. Prior to her arrival at B&B Landscaping, she worked 18 years for Shipman Nursery, designing and installing residential landscapes. She also assisted maintaining a small tree nursery, learning to prune, dig and transplant trees. Katie has been an active volunteer with the Connecticut Horticultural Society for many years. She has designed and constructed award winning landscape displays for the Hartford Flower & Garden Show.

Sharyn MacLelland, Service Manager
As a lifelong gardener, Sharyn has run her own successful landscape company for over 10 years in the Glastonbury area. Sharyn has also had a long career in management both in her own company as well as with local offices. Her extensive experience in both management and all aspects of landscape provides a unique opportunity for clients. Sharyn holds a degree from The University of New Hampshire and is certified with the University of Connecticut Master Gardeners Program.  Sharyn brings a great passion for serving clients while at the same time working with our team to maintain the highest quality standards

Jaime Slayton, Lawn Maintenance Project Manager
Jamie Slayton has been working in the landscape services industry for the past 15 years. He began his career in landscaping as an employee of B&B Landscaping when he was in high school. After many years working with his brother in the operation of a small local landscaping company, Jamie rejoined B&B Landscaping to head up the Lawn Maintenance Division. Jamie has a degree from Keene State College, holds a CT DEP chemical and pesticide license and regularly attends Connecticut Grounds Keeper Association conferences and programs to maintain his extensive knowledge and keep abreast of current trends in this field.
